Brit Awards 2017: Complete List of Nominations  It's time to celebrate the best in British music! The nominations for the 2017 Brit Awards were announced Saturday, and among the ultra talented contenders are more than just a few familiar faces in music.  Ellie Goulding is up in the British Female Solo Artist category while the late great  David Bowie could receive yet another posthumous accolade in the British Male Solo Artist group. Adele will take on a stacked category of music superstars for the British Artist Video award, which includes   Calvin Harris ,  Coldplay and  One Direction . Tiwa Savage toperform at official Grammy Week event   Nigerian music star, Tiwa Savage, has been announced as one of the artistes that will perform at the 8th annual Essence “Black Women in Music”—an official GRAMMY Week event – this February. The event, held the week of the Grammys, will take place on February 9 in Los Angeles. The event is being held to salute the year’s extraordinary GRAMMY nominees and celebrate four-time GRAMMY winner Erykah Badu on the 20th anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album, “Baduizm.” Speaking about having Tiwa who, recently signed on with Roc Nation, sing at the event, Essence president, Michelle Ebanks, said “Our collaboration with The Recording Academy underscores the mission of our ‘Black Women in Music’ platform. ‘Tekno in New York to sign Sony deal Triple MG lead act, Augustine Miles Kelechi, popularly known as Tekno, is currently in New York City to seal a record deal with Sony Music. Label bosses, Ubi Franklin, and CEO Upfront and Personal, Paul Okoye, accompanied him on the trip. This was made known in an Instagram video shared by Mr. Okoye. In the video, the trio are in high spirits and could be heard shouting, “We burn it, Sony Money, We burn it”. The video was shot in front of the Trump Towers, in New York. Although there are whispers that the deal is worth $4 million, critics believe that the figure may have been hyped considering the fact that most Nigerian artistes are known to exaggerate details of their endorsements and record deal. The deal is also said to be worth much more than what Davido was offered over a year ago by Sony.
