NYSC postpones the orientation course for all prospective corp members posted to Borno state    The 2016 Batch ‘B’ (Stream II) Orientation Course was scheduled to commence in all the NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide on Tuesday, 24th January, 2017. However, prospective corp members posted to Borno state, who were supposed to report for the course in the camp venue indicated in their Call-up letters, have been informed of a postponement. According to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the orientation course for those affected has been postponed to 16th February 2017 and they will be informed when to reprint their Call-Up letters. He announced his decision in a Nationwide broadcast he addressed last night. "I have decided today in good conscience to relinquish the mantle of leadership of this great nation with infinite gratitude to all Gambians. I promise before Allah and the entire nation that all the issues we currently face will be resolved peacefully. It is not necessary that a single drop of blood be shed" he said There have been an international outcry calling for him to step down after he lost the December 1st Presidential poll to Adama Barrow, his successor. Trump inauguration turns violent  More than 200 people have been arrested as of Friday evening in connection with protests that erupted during the inauguration of President Donald Trump, according to a spokesman for the District of Columbia’s Metropolitan Police Department. The demonstrations included acts of vandalism and clashes with police officers, who used flash bang grenades and pepper spray against the protesters. Yahoo News was present for a particularly intense clash between police and hundreds of demonstrators that took place in the vicinity of K Street and 14 th Street Northwest at about 5 p.m. Demonstrators lit multiple fires in the area and set ablaze a limousine. Police officers in riot gear moved in on the scene and pushed the protesters back using pepper spray and flash bang grenades.
